Who are we

Current Information Services (CIS) is a Canberra-based publishing and media-monitoring company specialising in products and services for the national education and library market.  CIS has been publishing its two journals since 1992.  Our editors are professional librarians with many years of experience and our subscribers are school and public libraries in all states and territories.

Our publications

current social issues and current environmental issues are two hard copy journals which bring together selected and reformatted newspaper articles from all the major metropolitan newspapers into a fortnightly journal.

Published 20 times a year, each issue contains 30 pages arranged alphabetically by SCIS subject headings. The journal is designed to be pulled apart and filed in a vertical file. Annual indexes for 2001-2008 are available as PDF or MS Word documents or you can search or browse our consolidated index (2001- )

Subscriptions are for one year (20 fortnightly issues) and cost $148.50 each.

Privacy

CIS does not contract out any part of its publishing operations and fully maintains its own subscription and dispatch services. The client database is maintained in-house and is not in any way lent, sold, hired or made available to any third party.
