current social issues

current environmental issues

Each fortnight during the academic year CIS produces a 30 page serial (A4 size pages) containing news articles on environmental and social topics featured in Australian capital city newspapers. The articles are reformatted to fit onto A4 pages and each page is allocated a subject heading from the SCIS Subject Headings List.

sources

Articles are selected from the following daily and weekend editions of:

  • Advertiser (Adelaide)
  • The Age (Melbourne)
  • Australian
  • Australian Financial Review
  • Australian Financial Review
  • Canberra Times
  • Courier Mail (Brisbane)
  • Daily Telegraph (Sydney)
  • Herald Sun (Melbourne)
  • Mercury (Hobart)
  • Sydney Morning Herald
  • West Australian

features

Each article is in full text and carries a complete source reference including the newspaper title, date and page number. Authors names are included (if published) and illustrative material of significance is included. The articles are arranged alphabetically by subject heading and each page is double-sided so that each sheet can be easily inserted into alphabetically arranged subject folios or files. On average, each issue contains approximately 40 articles.
